The sites of old Spanish mission communities across the American Southwest serve as a reminder that Spanish conquistadores and Roman Catholic missions colonized the western U.S. hundreds of years ago. Tumacácori National Historical Park, located in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley in southern Arizona, is one such preserved mission community. Tumacácori sits at a cultural crossroads in the Santa Cruz River valley. Here, O’odham, Yaqui, and Apache people met and mingled with European Jesuit and Franciscan missionaries, settlers, and soldiers, sometimes in conflict and sometimes in cooperation. To celebrate the paths less traveled in national recreation areas (these places receive far fewer visitors than National Parks), Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered an original illustration in the fashion of vintage poster art and travel art. This retro design and original National Park art is available as a poster, print, canvas, mini canvas, metal sign, notecard, or postcard. To learn more about this and many other sites preserved and protected by the National Park Service, check out the dedicated webpage for the National Park System.
